crewe sisters - namesake

Emma and Elaine Crewe from the enthralling webcomic Namesake, by Isabelle Melançon (~secondlina) and Megan Lavey-Heaton (~DQBunny).

Absolutely one of my favorite webcomics. Namesake is the perfect blend of fairy tales and kind of... modern day mystery. Fairy tales are a well-worn territory, but this story makes everything new and exciting. There are a lot of characters in different places at different times, but you still want to know what's happening with all of them! I have especially been a big shy fan of Isabelle's art for a long time, even before I started reading Namesake. I like a lot of the fan art she does, but my favorite is still the Adventure Time-inspired Sailor Moon pic. I really wanted to try drawing her (and Meg's) characters, and obviously the Crewe sisters are the two I'm most invested in! I love their round noses, but I don't think I really did them credit here. Isabelle also has some cute Avatar fan art, so that must be why my version of Elaine keeps reminding me of Katara?
